Movie Review: Monster

This is the only movie that would have been worth the $9.50 admission price they charge you there in Chicago. Charlize Theron absolutely deserved that Oscar, no question about it. It was really unbelievable, her performance.

Also, this is a very important movie, which everyone should see. Then everyone should apologize.

Here's what Dostoyevsky has to say about it:
And I began to explain with fervour that even the most degraded people still manage to retain the loftiest human feelings, that the depths of man's soul are unfathomable, that we should not despise the fallen, but on the contrary should seek them out and raise them up, that the commonly held standards of goodness and morality are false and so on and so forth. . . .
(The Village of Stepanchikovo)

. . . which, sheesh, is better than anything I could come up with.
